Play in front forks

I have recently started to notice that when i'm stood over my bike with the front brake on the forks will rock forward and back very slightly.

Not sure if this has always happened, but would appreciate any feedback on if this is a big concern and possible fixes.

    I take it that you don't have suspension forks.
    This does sound like your Head-set needs adjusted and, if left for too long could cause damage. If your bike is relatively new then it will use an un-threaded head-set which requires the head-set bearings to be pre-loaded before the steering tube is clamped.
    Google "A head-set adjustment" and you will see videos which will guide you in this. Leaving it for any time will mean replacement of the head-set.

    Yeah that's right i dont have suspension forks.
