Well I know this may well be more suited to Tours & Expedition section - but i dont ever go on that section really...

Just booked my holiday for this year yesteday - and now cant wait so thought i'd share with everyone. I've booked to do the Paris to Nice / Monaco ride with Polocini in September, so officially start my training today for what Al at Polocini informs me is a 760 mile route over 8 days riding in September. I had a trip to Polocini HQ to have a chat with Al, and have a look at all the pics and video that he had for last year's trip - and to say it looks amazing is an understatement!! Highlight of the trip will be a ride up Mont Ventoux - dreading and excited by that prospect in equal measure already - but at least have 5 months to get seriously fit / lose weight / treat myself to a new frame and wheels (and probably a compact for the summer bike also!!) etc etc.

Anyone done a similar route??

    Sounds like a good trip.
Don't bother with the compact, just get a bigger cassette!

Wow that sounds amazing Paul, I take it all the hotels are booked along the way - you'll come back with a nice collection of towels.

  • Sounds fantastic, have bike will ride!!

Thats some very basic info - and the miles dont add up I know. The route has been ammended from those distances to improve the trip - and it really does look stunning. Anyone fancies doing it then there are still 3 or 4 places left (limited to 14).

I'm feeling inspired to train now anyway - so just been out and done 71 miles this morning. Should have eaten something during the ride though - so must learn to look after myself better for Sept!! 8)
