I am thinking of doing the Norwich 100, I have looked at the site and it seems to steer you towards charity sponsorship which i am doing for something else. Any thoughts on just turning up on the day?

I've done it in the past, not bothered with rasing sponsorship money (like you i had other events on i was fund raising for)

It's a really easy course, almost pan flat, nice countryside roads. Bit unsure of them running it on a saturday this year, bound to be more traffic, especially on the way back into the city centre at lunch time

Having to pay for water, if you want to avoid the scrum at the gents toilets, at the half way stop is poor as well

I just turned up on the day last year, you don't have to get sponsored, in fact I'd be surprised if more than even half do. Despite being a cyclist for nearly 20yrs it was in fact the first sportive event I'd ever done and I can't say I was overly enthused, you get nothing apart from a bottle of water and a medal at the finish and starting/finishing in the city centre on a saturday seems nuts to me so I'm not too keen on it again this year. I suspect it's been popular purely because for a while it was one of the few events of its ilk in this area but there are a few more now. I'll probably give the boudicca one a go and maybe one of the pedal norfolk rides.
