i got a puncture yesterday and the tyre is split on my rear wheel, so i am replacing yksion tyres with aksions which i have already. should i really change the front too for any reason? the only other thing is the yksions are 23mm and the replacement 25mm, thanks

It is not an issue for riding, as long as you have a frame that gives clearances when you move up in sizes with tyres.

Having a bigger tyre on the rear makes sense because it bears more weight and the higher volume helps in terms of comfort, handling and ability to resist impact punctures.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

it fits fine, lots of space, and yeah thought i had heard the confort on the rear tyre before. i wasnt sure about the 23mm tyres though i have clocked some miles this week and got more used to them. only annoying thing is the tube i replaced the flat with yesterday has a short valve and pumping up is a bit fiddly!

Conti Attack/Force racing tyres are 24mm rear and 22mm front for exactly the reasons stated above
