I seem to be getting a good few punctures of late and am prepared to spend a few quid on tyres if it means this reduces.

Current tyres are Maxxis Crossmark 29 x 2.1. Can anyone recommend the best tyre of this size. Kevlar?

Much appreciated.

Run tubeless with sealant - I've only had one puncture in 10 months and that was a piece of glass on the road. I've been riding some Conti X-Kings all winter - not flatted, even though I've been running them at less than 20psi.

Funny, I run with tubes and haven't had a puncture for years. Tubeless must be rubbish.

  • thanks ...what's the theory behind the tubeless with sealant being more robust?

It seals up the holes. Hopefully.
