No, not saddle related....

When putting in extra effort, particularly uphills, I get a pain in the 2 muscles running under my buttocks from my thighs.....any thoughts on why, how to prevent it, never used to get it!
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

Top of the hamstring, bottom of the glutes type area? I guess if you are pushing it hard you are switching from emphasis on your quads to your hams and calves?

It might help to do some hamstring work in the gym and just strengthen them up, deadlifts, straight legged deadlifts, good mornings, hamstring curls on the machine.
  • ride more. get out of the saddle.

    Cheers for the replies...

Out the saddle isn't a good option on my commuter with 6Kg on the back - a lot of inertia!

McNP - OK will give it a whirl....
