Evans Woking Sportive Route

Hi Guys,
I entered back in Jan the Evans Woking Sportive that took place last weekend.
Unfortunately due to a friends wedding on the Saturday, decent weather & a free bar I was in no state to cycle to my local papershop let alone a sportive.
I have logged onto the original Evans E-mail to obtain the GPX for the route this morning but the routes have been taken off. I have searched the web this morning for the route but cant find anywhere..... so not just being lazy!
If anyone completed this or has a link to the route could they please put up a link for me to either GPX or copy as its looking a barmy 17 degrees on Sunday & might be time to dust off the shorts 8) & really want to complete it.
Also gutted that the New Forest Sportive is sold out for this Sunday, gonna be some ideal riding conditions & great scenery!
I don't believe in doing a route I haven't paid for or not entered otherwise I'd be down there

Great route through some great little villages, heathland and golf courses.
This is the Strava equivalent if that's what you use.

Thanks very much to you both! Glad you had a great day & enjoyed!..... Was annoyed at myself all day Sunday for being so hungover!!
Could I just ask, as I'll probably be doing the route on my own, is the route fairly quiet, traffic free roads.
Cheers again0 -
Yeah barely saw a car all day until last 5 miles. Remarkably quiet roads.Canyon AL Ultimate 9.00

So I guess it was this bunch of riders I passed going in the opposite direction as I cycled through Tilford/Seale. If any of you saw a chap wth a Campagnolo top, it was meWyndyMilla Massive Attack | Rourke 953 | Condor Italia 531 Pro | Boardman CX Pro | DT Swiss RR440 Tubeless Wheels
Find me on Strava0 -
Guys sorry to be a pain but been sat amending the route slightly as would like to include Box Hill as never done this before.
Is this area generally pretty traffic free? A25 looks like one to avoid on the route, will be catching the train to & from Woking station & would like a pretty major road free route

Hi,
I hope I undertsood what your question was properly and that you were starting and finishing the day at Woking?
The A25 is busy, but I cycle it all the time and cars are generally quite well behaved as they know it's a popular route to Dorking. Depending on how you want to get to Box hill and how far you want to cycle (either in total or from the main sportive route) I would be very tempted to go
:- Woking train station, out south through Pyrford, over the canal to Ripley, cross the main high street and head down Rose lane towards the A246. At the Lotus garage, turn left for a brief mile on the A246 east, then head back down south into the hills on Green Dene / Ranmore common, then ono the north side of Dorking and up Box hill! The road from Dorking to the start of the Box hill climb is busy and probably the least enjoyable part. Just watch out, anywhere between the A246 and A25 is climbing country, but pretty quiet and lovely scenery!
Hope that helps.0 -
Hi Wavefront & thanks for the response.
I am indeed, will be getting the train from Basingstoke to Woking & doing a loop that will start & finish at the station. Was originally going to do Evans sportive route start to finish but looking how close I am to Box Hill would be a shame not to be able to fit it in.
Cheers for the advice, I will indeed look at these roads & getting them into the route, ideally looking to do between a 60-80 mile loop, as long as I've been cycling though still try & stay away from the main roads as much as possible.0 -
The best part of the route was between 10 and 60 miles if you need to pick a specific part.Canyon AL Ultimate 9.00
