Rolf F, your probably right, could have been the bars flexing as i changed both at same time and the original peugeot quill looks bombproof/solid tbh. Still, I don't get along with them and how do you swap the stems without removing bar tape? that was my major draw to aheadset type stems :oops: had an ugly Giant adjustable quill i could do this but, i was a bit brutish and terminated that..
This is done in the thinking that once i've been able to afford a bike fit, i could order a quill based on that and until then i can mix n match my stems for the task at hand, I may want a more comfortable position for a 100miles. yes i know this can be adjusted with quills but the one i had was way too aggressive and bloody uncomfortable even after adjustments.
Wasn't even getting a mile down without bad pains :? been on a decent 75+ miles with the aheadset and much better positioning with just leg cramps due to my own lack of experience & electrolyte malarkey ignored for water... :roll:0 -
