Notice it is possible he will avoid the Ardennes completely. DNSd catalonia and avoided the classic. Dropping off BBs?

Complaining that he is tired and didn't have the base miles to be racing hard so early in the season.

Can't really imagine Bertie being overweight like Ulle in the off season

He is 8th on the rankings and in top 50 of kms raced this year, top 40s of race days this year and top 20s of efficiency.

He is off the pace of some previous years in terms of results but he is still performing and racing well and has not been sitting at home.

In any case, he wasn't down for racing these Ardennes - they were only possibilities. See here: viewtopic.php?f=40002&t=12898698

He's hardly been a prolific attendee in the Ardennes in his career He hardly does any one day races. And he's never done Catalonia.

If it was so he could 'drop of off blood bags' he'd just do that a week later. He hasn't got a serious race until June.

I might not be a Bert fan but that's immaterial. Agree with you both.
