Shimano RT76 rotors

Seen quite a few people with these that have a silver fixing washer on them, I bought mine recently from wiggle and merlin and they didn't come supplied with them? Are they 100% necessary?, if so anyone know where I can get these from?, see techdoc :

    I've had rotors and lockrings with and without. Doesn't seem to make a difference.

    Not entirely sure about the tightening plates they work well when they're new but after they've been on and off a few times they don't look too good I use a smear of blue Loctite on the bolts.

    The fixing washer thing would seem to be fairly fundamental though it sits in a recess on the spider

    I bought two from two different shops, one came with and one came without. Confused the hell out of me since the manual sheet refers to them in both, but I got the shop that came without to check and the next one out of their box didn't have them either. So I carried on without. Haven't died yet.
