Washing the ol' Gear...

HulloThere!

I have been brilliant and purchased a load of Rapha cycling gear! Great spend up that was, I loved the in-house coffee as well. One thing is, how do I wash it to ensure I don't ruin it?! After spending the same amount as a small car, I drew the line at the extra tenner on a 'Apparel Wash'. Ha. The gear is so so nice and I'd advise it if you can get it, the staff super friendly to boot BUT....how do I wash to ensure all the waterproofing stays as such, to ensure I don't shrink anything?

I know there are labels but that's just temps etc. I plan on a decent delicate wash at 30 (economical!) but in terms of detergents?

This is probably the most boring question ever asked on this forum and for that, I am eternally sorry but...well, what better place?

Thanks All!!!
WK

Just use a gentle or wool wash with slow spin at 30 (or 40) degrees.

TopMan. Cheers fella. Got some NON-BIO stuff as well. Made the mistake once of washing my SKINS stuff in biological detergent. NEVER. AGAIN.

Halo Proactive Sportswash, £3.99/l at Sainsbury. It's non-bio and works really well on my cycling kit on a 30 wash.

Plus I tend to not use fabric softener as some manufacturers suggest it does more harm than good to sports specific clothing.
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

I use Ecover Delicate, which seems to do a good job.
