with so many other cyclists out on the road yesterday i noticed when riding behind some that on the upstroke of peddling that some seemed to be sticking there knees outwards, bow legged if you like. i dont think i do this and do try to focus on keeping my legs straight but is this usual? one thought was is there bikes too small making this happen?

When I was having the final fittings on my new roadbike a fortnight ago, that was highlighted as something I do - cycle with knees outward.
No idea why I do it (certainly not for genital-related reasons sadly) but it seems to be the reason why my right ankle ached a lot at first. When I concentrate on keeping the knees in when cycling the tension in my ankle is non-existent.0 -
Check out Guadin in the Paris-Roubaix yesterday, his style is akin to an adult riding a childs bike!Trainer Road Blog: https://hitthesweetspot.home.blog/
