Out for a ride

So I went out this morning alone as the club ride was cancelled. Was not really feeling it as the beginning and had some very stiff and painful legs. Didn't think I would get more than 10 miles done.

Still kept pushing along and as I got further out decided to keep it up, saw a few club riders out some acknowledged me as I went by but most just looked or didn't even bother. Not sure whether those were the Rapha haters or not but I may try it again but without Rapha gear on

Interestingly and not for the first time my legs seem to feel stronger the more I rode, by the end I was starting to feel better and wouldn't have minded an extra 10 or so miles but didn't have any food on me so decided against it.

My phone crashed when I stopped and turned around so my journey was split into 2 Strava rides. I don't usually turn it on whilst cycling but I did today. Your thoughts on the segments?

Nothing too hilly, but are those ok ascents or should I be looking for longer steeper hills? Nothing like that around me.

Looks a nice route - it still spring so small hills in the chilly weather = biggish hills in the summer - good speeds as well - why was the ride cancelled btw, was it the weather?

Nope it's only just started up and I'm a newbie so didn't know how things work yet. The organiser was out of town. This was the first long ride since maybe last august whig was longer than my daily 10 mile commute.

Could've gone over Passingford onto Toot Hill then Theydon Mount-then on the way back the other side of Orange Tree Hill...that would've hurt.

Still new to venturing out into the unknown mate so wasn't sure, just stuck to the main roads really. As I get more familiar I will definitely venture further. Did you get out btw? Totally forgot about making contact about a ride!

I can show you a few routes/circuits when we go out-stayed in this morning-a bit unfit at the moment but should be back at 100% in 2 weeks.
