New brake or adapter + rotor?

I have hope mini disc brakes and I've just fitted some new rockshox golds which have post mount.
It's going to cost around 40 quid for an adapter, New rotor and new pads. I need a new rotor because the adapter will require a 20+mm bigger than what I have.
So is it worth me just buying a new front brake (post mount) ? If so what's as good as what I have around this price ?

You can get adaptors that are +0.0

My rotors are 163mm. I've tried the kcmc but the caliper is sitting about 6mm further out from the rotor than it should be.0

Have you got washers between the adapter and post mounts?0

certainly looks like there's a washer in between the two!
i suspect that with the adapter it will come in at 165mm, hope tend to run a few mm smaller so by taking out the thick washer you've got in it should sit closer, probably give a couple of mm gap due to the 163-165mm difference,Timmo.

Can't take the washers out as the adapter fouls the fork. With the washers in the adapter just about misses the fork.0

So looks like ill have to send this adapter back.
I see the deore brakes are available for the same amount it will cost me for a new adapter, rotor and pads.
Anyone know if these are better/worse or the same as the hope mini?0 -
A lot better!0

Why is that then? Thought hope were pretty decent0

Wait until you try the Deore. More power, great feel, drag free, well made, easy to bleed.0

Those Minis are old tech too so you will really notice the difference, and weren't that great at the time with thier awkward lever snape and tendancy to squel at any possible moment :P I only bought them because MBUK said they were awesome and I didn't know anybody else at the time who had other brakes to try out. Shimano all the way now0

I think the deore take 160mm rotors. Would it be ok to use washers to bring the deore caliper out to fit my 165mm rotor?0

I wouldn't.I don't do smileys.
