Same here. The site is terribly slow.

I'm using Firefox and when I navigate within the forums I usually get the bikeradar.com logo load but otherwise a blank page.
Sometimes hitting PF5 to refresh helps but not always. :(

Duplicated due to exactly the problem described above.

    What adds?

Oh wait! Your not one of these people who roam the internet without using any of the usual add removal plugins and script inhibitors (had to use those two descriptions as this site actively removes the names of the programs involved).

Certainly, with the aforementioned anti-script plugin, you shouldn't let any other sites have script access except for BikeRadar itself. And always, and i mean always, block scripts coming from anything with the word "Google" in it (responsible for about half the adds on the internet).

Haven't seen an ad on this forum or any other forums i visit in donkeys years (and lets not forget that loading all that extra ad data slows down sites considerably).
  • Hey all,

If you are experiencing unusually slow connection speeds could you email us at bikeradar (at) bikeradar (dot) com and state:
    > what browser you are using
    > which operating software
    > If you are using ad-blocking
    > Which error messages are displayed/which pages seem to hang and cause trouble

We will get the dev team to look into it and try and resolve any issues.

The issue is the reluctance of delivery.platform.switchads.com to respond as highlighted in the thread I linked to above.

All browsers I've tried (FF, IE & whatever comes with Android and Android Chrome)
    OSes: Windows (various) and Android
No a-d-b-l-o ckers (though as expected the use of adb l oc ke-rs fix the problem).
  • Thanks jezzpalmer - We've flagged the issue with one of our team who will look into it.
