Well as suggested and to show a girl how a proper cave should look:

You call that a proper cave? I can clearly see floor space which ideally should be filled with bikes.

Very impressive. But where's the carpet and the comfy chair?

It's dark and dingy like a cave. There's a bit more room now as two of the motorbikes have gone, but there are more bicycles. I'll get an up to date picture soon, but there is a load of rubbish in there waiting for me to go to the dump. I haven't tidied recently as I keep hoping it's going to get warmer.

Mine's a mess at the moment. Been full of wood for the new facia boards on the house roof - just not got round to getting someone to fit them over winter.

    Not so much a cave...

More of a corner of the spare bedroom (1st floor flat). There were more bits and pieces lying about, 2 x Wheel-sets, saddles and bars etc. but as you can probably tell from the bucket of paste the room has been recently decorated hence why its tidy and the boxes are nice and neat.

Yes, it's a fair cop. In my defence it was asked for after seeing MSM's pristine lady cave. So I knew the library picture was there and put it out there. I'll take a more recent picture to show it's current state, complete with eerie green glow that emanates from the new toy.
Beer sounds good. Will it ever warm up enough to sit outside a pub with a beer?

That's far too tidy, is the other side a complete mess? I also really hope the large white thing behind the Boardman is a beer fridge, any other domestic appliance loses you respect.
Looks good and I may be jealous of the space and tidiness.

It's not a beer fridge but it is a chest of drawers that houses all the bike spares. The other side is tidier, it's a downfall of mine!

That's alright, I was worried you'd allowed a washing machine or something in there. I wish I was a bit tidier and less of a hoarder, you can probably tell that's a downfall of mine.

I want to see a close up of the road bike hanging on the far wall (and proof that it's not a washing machine! :D)

Is it really sensible posting a picture of the entry point to your cave on a public forum? You've now shown any potential thieves exactly what they need to make an effective entry ...
Ok - chances may be slight ...

There are 6 bolts holding one door shut and 4 holding the other. You would need to remove the doors to get in, plus the stupidly bright PIR activated light along with piercing alarm might wake me up.

Rather confusingly there are two threads on man caves at the moment but I'm posting mine in the most recently started fred. I 'leveraged' ITBoffin's idea of hanging spare wheels from the ceiling from the last thread.

Bike upside down is my Spesh Allez commuter that I bust a spoke on the Mavic Aksium on the rear last week. As it's only got 24 spokes it went so far out of true the rim was rubbing on the chain stay meaning I had to jump on the overland at Elephant & Castle with bike to get home :(

Turns out the hub is fooked too

Oof nasty I have a pair of those on the Trek they've been bulletproof apart from a flat spot I pick up from a pothole but still going strong, did you hit something?

not really sure if i hit something or if it's just accumulated over the course of time. They've lasted pretty well over the last few years and have done circa 10,000 miles so I can't complain

How on earth did you cope with the BBC clear desk policy?! :D

And how's the new job going?

I did my best to ignore the clear desk policy. Mine was almost never clear, and I used the fact that I wasn't a hot-desker as justification (largely because I had multiple monitors, monitor stands and other stuff that made hot-desking a royal PITA anyway). On those occasions when someone would ask us to tidy stuff away, I grumbled. :D

New job's going OK - my PC actually arrived last week, only a week and a half after I started! The commute's a lot shorter, although I haven't got round to going the long way in or home yet. :D

Just to show that everything in my life is as carefully organised as my cave. How would this fit in with a clear desk policy?

Looks just fine to me! That said, I did once win a prize in the magazine MEGA for the untidiest room. A copy of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, IIRC.
