Rockshox TORA vs Sektor RL

I want to upgrade the fork on my 2010 Commencal Ramones AL1
It is a Rockshox TORA 289 U-Turn 130mm and I want to replace it with Rockshox Sektor RL Solo Air 150
Frame should be fine for it (current 2013 AL1 has a 150mm fork) but it seems the stem length of the Sektor is 265mm vs the Tora's 210mm. What's the deal here? Can I just chop a few mm off or do I need to find one thats the same stem length?

Cut to size. After fitting and measuring carefully. Once it's off, it's off.I don't do smileys.

Yours it not a 2013 frame though. Different geometry, I wouldn't do it.0

Hmm... You are correct.
These are the 2 geometries. I have a medium. What would the differences actually mean in the real world?

Hmm well the slackening of the head angle on the 2013 is pretty much a function of the longer fork, BB is dropped on the 2013 though where yours will be slightly raised. Most crucially the top tube is longer on the 2013.
To summarise the 2013 is inline with modern 'longer, lower, slacker' thinking, putting 150's on your will make it 'the same length, slightly higher, slacker'.
Personally if you could borrow some 150's I'd give them a try before you buy.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
