Trying to get my head round this and a local LBS didnt help much. Ive been given a hope 183mm floating rotor by a friend . Now im trying to fit it to my front brake but the mount i have is far too big (a 203mm)
Brake im using is a Shimano Deore M596, can i use this mount on the front fork with out problems?

Any help would be great

So, if you're going from a 203mm to 183mm rotor, everything else is the same? you need a 183 mount like your current 203 one.

That link is the right part, others do it as well (like Superstar).
