Strave on iPhone + battery life

Just a quick question - I've just installed the Strava app but haven't used it before. I'm heading out in about an hour for a long day's ride (7 hours).
I just wondered, does anyone have any sort of idea/experience as to how much the app drains your iPhone battery while running? I don't want to try it for the first time and find my battery flat after 4 hours.
Appreciate that battery life varies, but just a rough idea would be useful.

I did a 54 mile ride yesterday which took 4:35 mins to complete and when I finished I had 48% battery left still after the ride.
This is when all other apps are turned off just Strava running on my iPhone 5. And it seems to have a worse battery than my iPhone 4
On the iPhone 5 yeast yeas in sept I did 100mile ride in 6:40 mins with 25% battery left so I can't see a problem.
Contrary to popular belief the battery is sufficientSpecialized S Works SL2 . Campagnolo Record 11spd. rolling on Campag Zonda wheels

I always make sure the iphone is fully charged before heading out, close down all apps not being used and turn off celular. This leaves me with just cyclemeter running, i have bluetooth on for my HR and Cadence. The longest i've had it running is just over 5hrs and there was very little battery left when i got home, i was occasionally checking the the map to see where i was going which does kill the battery pretty quick.0

Used Strava on iphone 4s for four and a half hours yesterday and battery went from 100% to 77%. They all vary but you should be fine.0

Without Hijacking your thread dude and while on this subject, what is the accuracy of the iPhone strava I have just downloaded it today. And what would people give it out of 1 to 10 for the iPhone.0 -
Seems pretty consistent to me.0

Can you put an iPhone into "Airplane Mode" and have the GPS still on, that's what I do with my Android.
It does mean that you will be unreachable until you switch it back into phone mode (though sometimes that ain't a bad thing )0 -
You can turn off all 3G & cell data.
I switched from iPhone to Galaxy s3 a few months ago which seems to have about 30% more juice when using Strava than the iPhone. Got a Garmin now though and use the S3 for listening to the radio whilst riding instead.Canyon AL Ultimate 9.00
