Custom Bottles etc

Hi all,

Just trying to figure out ways of making money for college, (okay maybe an upgrade as well,) when I'm older.
Came up with the idea when out spinning of custom colour bar tape, not just one colour but split ones like the Lizard Skins only whatever colour you want ie. Red and green. A quick look into it told me it was way beyond my capabilities.

I started looking at other custom options that I could venture into, now not jerseys and bib-shorts etc, much simpler such as bottles.
Which leads me to the question of whether you would buy club colour bottles with the club logo on them and how much would you be willing to pay for them?

Thanks, you're helping to fund my future in something or other

I'm looking at that sort of stuff already mate thanks:) I've moved onto how much would you as a consumer would spend on them if you would buy them at all :) Considering I'd be making a profit on them, not much I'd be happy with a tenner for supplying a whole club :)

    Also: What's more common 550 or 750ml?

Think the 550 size is more common? well think so but sure others may have different ideas.
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

Alright thanks might be personal preference in the end :) Going to look into be able to offer both depending on how it works with the bulk buying :)
    £5-10

Deadly cheers, have it coming in for 4 euro at the minute for 100 bottles including the profit I'd make so that's bang on cheers :D

If have 550's on in the summer & see most of my club mates with the same too. However through the winter on longer slower solo riders where its a bit cold & I can't be bothered with stopping I'm happy to have the larger 750s & their heavier weight.

You right it is a personal preference thing though - let us know how you get on & good luck with the venture.

My rugby club buys them at the beginning of the season in packs of 100, we get them in the club colours with a logo and i think it works out as £1.75 per bottle. The club then sells them at £3 per bottle. To be honest unless the quality was good i wouldnt spend more than that on a bottle as they dont last long and tend to leak pretty quickly.
Life isnt like a box of chocolates, its like a bag of pic n mix.

Cool thanks, providing the numbers interested are big enough, I might be able to outsource it to Eurobottle and I've been using one of their bottles for around 6 months without the logo (High5) wearing off so they should last :)

Hi, personally I never use cheap bottles (the type you often get free). I have loads of them in a box and just keep them for kids and mrs to possibly use.
The other thing is that even if it were fantastic I would not want one in club colours/design as it would not match my bike, and I feel the bottle is more a part of the bike.
Sorry to be negative, but all the best with any venture ;-)
  • Quality bottles that don't leak are a must. Use cheap bottles in order to maximise your profits and you'll not get repeat custom. Use quality kit and they will sell. A friend had some made last year, landed they cost about £8.00 each

Oh yeah, I know what you mean, I'm planning on using http://www.eurobottle.nl/ for the bottles, have had a High5 labeled bottle from them for a while and label hasn't worn off, isn't leaking and seems to be fine compared to my other bottles.
Right cool thanks, know what you mean :)
Don't worry about being negative, if everyone replies truthfully, it will save me a lot of time spent talking to the clubs etc Thanks

Thanks, Eurobottle seem to have good bottles, I definitely won't be going down that avenue thanks:)
Interesting thanks, I should be able to sell the good bottles in for 3-4€ Do you know what company he used for them? Thanks :)
