I think it's because the first one is from the 70's :)

How did you get a 10 speed cassette on those original Viking wheels? Also, change those viking wheels. Mine came in at 3800g a pair.

    Love the Ribble though!

it came with shimano 8 speed cassette the hubs can fit 8,9 and 10 speed rear cassette. they are heavy like you say but its makes it even more enjoyable when i get on the ribble.

They must have different hubs then as mine came with a 7-speed freewheel! I presume yours came originally with 2300?

    oh .
    there some bikes.
  • I like the upgrades to the Viking, I did the same to my old Coyote

But now I ride this sweet beauty

I did change the handlebar tape to Easton red, gave it Kool-stop Salmon brakes (work amazing compared to Shimano 105 bread blocks) and Ultremo red tyres. I know the bike has to function but I love it looking as sweet as your ribble.

Please let me know if you come to sell it. I will throw all sorts of money at you. :P

There's a special place in hell for whoever made the coyote big sur frame and sold it as a road bike.
