Where do you keep your phone when out on the bike?

I've either got a dodgy iPhone 4s or it doesn't like my chest zipped pocket in my gillet as each time I'm out on my ride recently it just switches off just as I want to take a pic. I get home and it powers up with battery left
Also if I don't wear my gillet I don't have another top with a zipped pocket
So where do you keep yours?

my iPhone goes in my saddle bag (inside plastic bag just to be safe !) I'm guessing if your using it for tracking it wont link it...but then I use Garmin so never needed to0

small saddle pack?
i personally dont like anything on my person so i have a saddle pack big enough for all essential items,0 -
I keep my Galaxy in my rear jersey pocket. Never had an issue with battery life or phone acting funky.English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0

Middle jersey rear pocket. On a rainy day it goes in a wee ziploc bag.0

My Samsung & wallet goes in a plastic sandwich bag with resealable top in my middle rear pocket - stops the weather & me getting them damp!0

Back pocket, in a plastic bag ever since sweat got into an old Nokia and it started dialling people at random from my contact list, while I was in Mallorca. Hefty bill taught me a valuble lesson...0

I use my iphone for strava so it goes in a pouch from my sunglasses inside my middle pocket on my jersey/jacket. Also keep a second cheapo phone on my for emergency calls in I am going out in the sticks.0

Smartphone stays at home and I take an old dumbphone with me sealed in a bag. The battery lasts for days and I wouldn't be too gutted if it got broken or lost. GPS duties handled by garmin, navigation by memory and old fashioned paper map.0

I use my iphone for Strava, that uses alot of battery and can go flat with the gps going. Therefore, if I did run out of power I would have no phone. Its only for when I go out into the countryside, which with fewer phone masts makes the phone use more power looking for a signal. If I had to make a call in an emergency, I still have a working phone.0 -
My current jersey I use doesnt have rear pockets, plus I don't fancy anything in open pockets to be fair
Maybe a small saddle bag it is then, as not sure of the top tube one linked aboveWanted: Cube Streamer/Agree GTC Compact / Pro/ Race : 53cm0 -
Topeak Tribag - a bit like the top tube one above but that one looks too wide to me.0

Use a neoprene sleeve! Like the CRC one0

Always in a ziplock bag in the back pocket. Sweat will kill a phone quickly.
Never had a problem.0 -
My Desire did this because the battery wasn't a tight enough fit and the contacts opened when I hit a pothole or suchlike. Hi tech solution is to slip a piece of paper between the battery and case to tighten the contacts.0

In one of my many short pockets, but then again I'm not a real roadie, as I ride wearing mtb baggies.2010 GT Series 4 ultegra wheels & brakes

I don't normally use a case for my phone but I bought a cheap one on eBay to provide a degree of protection from the sweat and in case it fell out of my jersey pocket. It never has fallen out and it's pretty clear it's never going to unless something happens to me that will relegate concerns over the condition of my phone to second place.0

I,d definitely keep the phone in a pocket. i once put an old Motorola I just used for emergencies in my tailpack and it killed it due to vibrations i assume, it eventually started working again after a while but i wouldnt chance it with an expensive smartphone.0
-
Either in my back pocket or in my Carradice if I am riding with it. I always have it in a ziplock bag though.0
-
Turn strava on, put the iPhone in an old sock, wrap it up and put it in the jersey pocket0
-
Galaxy S3 goes in my zip up rear pocket of my jersey (need to buy a sandwich bag)
if you're worried about the battery going flat, stick it in flight mode, this will prevent any battery loss due to poor signal area.
I've come off with the phone in this pocket and it was fine0 -
In a zip-lock sandwich bag which goes in the small saddle bag with a spare tube, pump, couple of Co2, tyre lever, house keys and some change just in case.0
