I wasn't really feeling it this morning, so was just going to do a quick hour out and back, just so I could say i went out.

But the weather in Yorkshire was fantastic so kept pushing east till I realised I had no food or money with me and only a small bottle. So turned for home. Was I shame I felt like I could just have kept on all day.

Got the kids home tomorrow, so will probably spend the day in chocolate induced coma lol

Another nice ride Phil. I had my longest of the year yesterday. It was v cold and a bit of a wind. Headed out to find a climb I had heard about but to be honest I was shot by about 32 miles. Wind and conditions obviously too its toll. I also had taken no food and my legs felt pretty empty. Soldiered back despite considering calling for the broom wagon. Ended up doing 52 miles at 14.8mph and 2500ft gain according to strava. It was a grindfest but I am glad I stuck it out. Miles in the legs at this time of year but worrying ahead of the 90 I am due to do in 2 weeks time :(

Nice ride Phil. Had pretty much the same scenario, I was in two minds whether to go out or not but couldnt waste such a nice day. It was almost short sleeve temperature but I decided to wear a jacket and sweat it out :| It was a bit iffy on the high areas, roads ploughed into only 1 lane and 3-4ft snow banks, not as impressive as crispyapps thread though. Bike came home, the dirtiest I've ever seen it. Really enjoyed it. The only downside was I looking forward to going on Rivington Road to get some climbing practice..it was closed

Hi Phil. Not far from you, rode out to Tadcaster in the Sun yesterday which was pretty good. Not been out that way much and it was surprisingly undulating (3400 ft in just over 60 miles). Today turned the other way and rode out over Buckstones/Standedge and back via Huddersfield. Still a lot of snow on the Buckstones road. Big headwind on the way back as well, was glad to get home!

If you go to Tadcaster the Tykes tearoom (on the main street) is well worth a visit. Enjoy your week off!
