Hi all,

Up in Goole for work this coming week. Planning on taking my bike and making the most of the lighter evenings. Anyone from that area that could give me some pointers as to the best places to ride in the area. Ideally want to be doing 30-40 mile loop from Goole.

plenty of nice quiet roads between Goole and Wakefield - maybe head out north or the river past Fairburn, then castleford and south and east home? Just a thought. Or head north to Pocklington and loop round and back?

Anywhere heading north east will get you up into the Wolds for some climbing, maybe in a loop around York. Overnight ride up to Scarborough is nice - did that last year from Doncaster (as in ride up and stay over then back home the next day).

Any road out of Goole is surely good

If you have the legs you could head up towards Bridlington or Scarborough. Treat yourself to fish and chips too. 8)

Edit: Doh! Just seen other suggestions

Almost a mirror image of what i did yesterday :)
  • Head out towards howden, then follow the back lanes for a quiet ride towards north/south cave where there are a few hills to head up before coming back. Back roads are normally fairly quiet but the headwind the last two days has been a killer
