Merino Wool long sleeve with neck zip top/cardigan

I want to get a Merino Wool top with neck zip that can be used for cycling as well as skiing. I am not looking for a base layer, as I have those. I need a thermal mid-layer but something maybe a bit thicker that I can also wear casually outside when the spring comes (if ever it decides to show it's face).
I have had a look at http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/CLO ... h_zip_200g
anyone has it and can tell how thick it is? and if suitable to wear as an outer layer under casual circumstances?
thanks

Have a look at Icebreaker Merino. They do a good range of tops in all weights. Not cheap though.0

I wear my Rapha merino tops for cycling, skiing, sleeping in, and round the house!! Absolutely love them and worth the money IMHO.0

I wore my LS Rapha jersey as a mid layer skiing every day for a week this season. It's Sportwool which is a bit more durable and versatile than pure merino. The jerseys aren't very thick though, so I'm not sure if they're quite what you'd be after.
If it helps, I found that I could ski comfortably in +/- 5°C wearing a single synthetic base layer, the Rapha top, and my ski jacket.0 -
will keep an eye on icebreaker, sportspursuit had some great deals on those

I bought some Icebreaker tops not long ago. Quite impressed with them. This place has some good offers on at the mo but stock/sizes are limited:

I have that top in the short sleeve version. It's not that thick, no thicker really than a regular jersey.
It is still pretty warm though.0
