I'm looking to get hold of a power meter (not fussed what type, probably powertap wheel) for a short period of time to validate my indoor training set up (rollers and turbo)

Would probably only need it for a couple of weeks - month at a stretch.

Cyclepowermeters.com have waiting list and three month minimum hire, I have email enquiry in with Athlete Services

Any other places I could try? I'm based in Glasgow if that helps...

Cheers - but looking for a shorter minimum term than 3 months and would also like it quickly (they have waiting list) - not asking for much eh?!

Best bet is to buy a PT wheel and resell it if you're crunched for time.

Thanks - hadn't thought about that option, assume resell values are pretty good - will investigate!
  • Or see if there's anyone able to let you borrow one for a short period?

Ideally we'd like to not have a waiting list for these wheels, but demand is high at the moment!

Wiggle were doing a decent deal on the pro hub, but then there's build time to consider. There's been a couple in the classifieds last week (i was very tempted by one but it was the day after I pressed buy on the wiggle deal.

I guess you can take the potential hire cost as a part of the hit on resale.

it's a bit naughty, but you could buy one...

fit it very very carefully to avoid cosmetic damage

do the test - one day enough?

    remove, pack, return for refund

That's something chicks do with expensive dresses and the like. As men it is our job to make silly yet necessary purchases that we can't afford and spend the next few months eating beans. Without this level of pride you are not fit to be called a man.

I keep the boxes as a constant reminder of why I eat on the cheap ;)
