Fulcrum Racing 5s 2013 advice required!
Hi folks,
I would appreciate some advice on my new Fulcrum Racing 5s please.
I had thought I could stick my Swalbe Marathon Plus 700c x 28 tyres on them but the user instructions on the wheels reads:
'Before fitting the tyres, check that the diameter indicated on the tyre is 622 and that the cross section is between 23mm - 25mm, to ensure that the tyre and wheel is compatible.'
Excuse my ignorance but does this mean the 28s aren't compatible?

Yes. You can fit between 23mm and 25mm tyres. Unless you are riding on cobbles or some seriously bad roads, you don't need 28mm tyres anyway.
Road - Dolan Preffisio
MTB - On-One Inbred
I have no idea what's going on here.0 -
nonsense.
just slap them on. As long as your frame and brakes can clear it theres nothing that wouldn't make it work.0 -
Thanks and yes, plenty of cobbles in Edinburgh to navigate so that's why the 28s.
Cheers,

i know all about it. Because I live in flanders I'm faced everyday with those damned bone rattling cobbles..
Even for races I ride the (vittoria open corsa) 25's and love them.0 -
Ridden 32mm CX tyres on narrow road rims no problems - get's tricky once you get above 35mm as certain tyre and rim combos don't work too well and the tyre bead pops-off the rim.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
