Agree I thought paintwork was a bit wooden and blocky but when I had a ride it just felt right. I was looking at the 4.9 Madone and this and this was what I ended up happiest with so I got it regardless of the aesthetics.

Tyres are white on the outside only.

And cables are standard also.
  • I want to change the wheels for lightweight seen some nice ones for £500 front and £650 rear so that should spruce it up a bit to.

  • A £3000 bike and you've got to spend another £1100 to get a pair of decent wheels?
Something don't add up here!

Whats not for you the bike or getting the wheels. for £3000 there is a huge range of bikes more suited than mine. I have gotten this one because it fits me and I have had a cross over from Madone. Unless you ride them its hard to say whether or not it's for you and i tried a few but I was happy.

I must agree aesthetics arn't its strong feature but on a practical level it's been fantastic. I did 25 mile today and got more adjusted to the bike than I did when I did my 50 miler last week and I felt more comfortable with it so crossing from Madone to Domane was a good choice for me and this is for me only not everyones choice.

But would recommend having a go Phil if you get a chance the bike quite unassuming.
