My apologies if this has been asked a million times before but I am looking to replace the stock Kenda tyres my bike came with.
I am looking for something that offers everything all for the price of a bag of toffees.

Could anybody out there in the world of cycling recommend a good mid range tyre that offers a good turn of speed along with excellent puncture resistance.

Thanks

Conti Gatorskins or 4 seasons seem to get a large vote? I have been using Gatorskins on my commute for over 500 miles, had one puncture, but my route is particularly flinty.

As above, both really good tyres.

I went for Vredestein Tricomp Quatro which are basically the same as the Conti 4 Seasons but due to their relative popularity in the UK they are much cheaps - around £20 a pop as opposed to £30+ for the Contis.

Haven't done enough miles to know much about puncture resistance but they feel very nice on the road.

    +1 gp4seasons or Mich pro4 endurance.

    Never liked gators myself.

  • I just completed ...well nearly as its still snowing....a whole winter on Gators.

Couple of things, they are very tough (no punctures, but plenty of nics in tyre), they roll very well and aren't that heavy at all.
Weather wise, they grip well on the wet, but one issue. They suck in corners, i mean they are awful, pretty much no grip if your racing or going fast, so be careful if you aggressive.

    7/10 for a tyre though.

Tbh my favourite tyre by miles, they light and great for racing, but the grip you get from them really is inspiring to take more aggressive lines, especially in the corners. enough said, buy them.

Fortezza Tricomp's, currently on half price at Ribbles. An excellent all round tyre, superb in the wet.

+1 for tricomps. Used them for a few years now. Fast rolling and excellent puncture protection (prepared for multiple punctures now I've said it!). Pretty cheap too.
Still available at ribble £20 each
