Use my bike for weekend, club rides and sportives and want to upgrade my cheep Alex wheels to something better. Been looking at shimano rs20 and 30's are these any good? Looking to spend around £150-£200. Any advice is much appreciated

Mavic Aksiums @ £145 is a good buy, I'd take them over the lower range Shimanos

Otherwise I'd be looking at some second hand wheels from the classifieds.Cannondale CAAD 10 Ultegra

A lot depends on your weight - so that the wheel and tire combination is dependable.
Also, are you willing to have less comfort if you switch to more narrow higher-pressure tires?
Wheel weight is mostly a concern for climbing, and for rapid acceleration. A more aero wheel and tire is an advantage on the flats.
I would not trade dependability for performance on a far-from-home, unsupported ride.

Save a few more spondoolies and at £300 plus wheels start to make sense.
Cheaper than this and any upgrade is likely to be looks only IME.Yellow is the new Black.0 -

Upgrade your tires now, but wait until you've got a better budget for new wheels.Summer - Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 9.0 Team
