Morning,
I have got back into mountain biking again after around 3 years off. Ive just been using a mates bike up until now but I think its about time I get myself a new bike. My budget will be £1000 and I want a hardtail for mostly XC & Trail riding. I used to ride a Cannondale so was initially attracted to one, but another couple of bikes I quite like the look of!
Any thoughts/opinions on these ? Oh yeah I want 26" wheels.

Cheers!

Of those 3, the Cube.
The Canyon has a better spec, but I can understand why people would rather 'try before they buy'.
Would try to get a 2011/2012 model though - I notice that the 2013 Cube's spec isn't as good.2007 Felt Q720 (the ratbike)
2012 Cube Ltd SL (the hardtail XC 26er)
2014 Lapierre Zesty TR 329 (the full-sus 29er)0 -
I fancy the canyon but is it 29 or 26? the frame pic on the bottom is confusing as it states AL 29.0

That is the 26er, 29er has 29 in the name. It looks like they've just put the wrong label on the frame pic.0 -
Thanks for the advice, the Canyon looks nice. Are they higly rated then?
Out of them which do you think has the better frame?__________________________________________________________________________________________

another alternative http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/m1b0s2p4207/CUBE-LTD-2012 fork not as good as the canyon's and no good if your looking for a size 18'', but a lot cheaper and possibly better than your original choices ?Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc 10- CANYON Nerve AM 6 20110

The Whyte and the Cube you mentioned are both out of stock. Look out for last years models, if you can find them, you'll get them cheaper, or get a higher end model for about the same money. Try looking in Pauls Cycles, Winstanleys and Bike Discount. You may not get an earlier model from Canyon as they don't sell in shops, you have to buy direct from their website. May be worth a phone call or e-mail though. Look out for most German brands, you'll generally get more for your money, the likes of Canyon, Cube and Radon in particular. Heads up, Radon do a custom build too, or at least they did last year. You would have to choose one of their frames, then you get say what you want on it and they'll build it as you want.0

http://www.bikes2udirect.com/B5281.html -buy a fox fork with the left over cash,
Sell the rock shox fork, then with that cash, take your new bike to Scotland, and give it a proper 'breaking in'..
Your welcome..0
