Tights for the short of leg but rotund...

I am a bit of an odd shape inside leg and 31", 6' tall and 16 1/2 stone, so I could do with tights that are short in the leg, but still quite wide.

I know I could look at 3/4, but I'd rather keep my calves warm as well!

So rather than just trying on everything in the shop, does anyone have suggestions on what to look at first?

Thanks,
Paul.

  • I got some leg warmers last year from Aldi when they had their cycling gear on. They're great & once on are basically just the same as tights. If you already have shorts or struggle to get the right size tights, this could be an option.

Tights without stirrups, turn up the ankle and wear overshoes - job done.

I might try the legwarmer option. The awkward bit with turning up an ankle is that looking at sizing info, to get wide enough tights, I'll have a good few inches to lose :-(

  • I tuck my leg warmers right into my shoes. They're a little too long but it holds them on at the bottom.

... which makes the 3/4's idea sound more plausible...

I think I'd have that uncomfortable cold couple of inches between the bottom of the 3/4 and socks/overshoes :-)

I always have a nightmare getting warm tights that are big enough, but don't wrinkle uncomfortably. (short calf length).

I always go here, as I get sent them really quickly and they seem to do a lot of warmer fleecy makes, and they have an outlet too (which is cheap) - and they are UK based

Looking forward to getting back out there after a neck injury.
