As per the title, which 29er would you recommend for trails around the £800 mark?

Boardman Comp 29er - any good? I like the idea of being able to at least sit on it before buying

The spec on the Vitus looks great for the money - never heard of them before though. Anyone able to recommend?

Don't think so, a few people asking the same questions as you. There are reviews on the CR site though

Okies - i'm willing to try...

At 5'11 would you recommend the Medium or Large frame - normally Large works okay with a 26, but is a 29er any different?

See Sensa bikes at Merlin cycles (great value) or On-One.

I did another search before pressing Buy ...

What about these two as alternatives to the Vitus?

CANNONDALE TRAIL SL 29'ER 2 i think ... Just don't know which size to go for.

With the headtube being half an inch longer than the 26 I may be able to get a Medium - what do you think?

Nobody can answer that question for you. You may have short legs and long arms or vice versa

I've never bought a bike off of the internet unseen/unridden before - how do others work out which size will work?

I have just bought a saracen kili trail 2013 for £799 plus some accessories thrown in to the mix from my local bike shop. It seems to be getting some good reviews and forks are good value for money.

I've ordered the Cannondale Trail SL 29'ER 2 in Medium - not the best way to test it out, but I had a go on a Giant and Specialized 29er which were similar sized to the Cannondale Medium ... not the best way to test, but I couldn't think of another!

I guess I will find out when it turns up in a day or two :)

Cracking looking bike these, pretty decently spec'd too, especially if you look through the rest of the killi range,
