£900 budget, self build, Options?

My brother is looking at possibly doing a self build on a £900'ish budget...

What are his options? Or at this price range is it not worth it?

He's tempted by a 456 Evo frame...

Self builds are satisfying i think, i built my last one for about £950 ish, and i love it, as you know its what you wanted, it can be done, but depending on spec, some parts may have to be second hand i think

Can be worth it with careful picking of parts. For groupset and brakes cannot beat this:

Add in a good fork like a Sektor:

Then a set of superstar whewls and finishing kit.

I was looking at the groupsets on Merlin, He said he'd want to go to 2x10 i.e the SLX, Which is still a really good deal.

If it was me I'd go for the Deore. Was also looking at the Sektor fork! I'm thinking of replacing my Epicon with a Sektor or maybe a Revelation if money can be stretched...

Would it be worth replacing to a Sektor, SS?

Also the BB on the 456 Evo is 73mm... Will the Deore be ok?

The SLX will be but not sure about the Deore...

Not really, unless is the RL version of the Sektor. Epicon is a good fork.

BB will be fine.
