It would make more sense to hold these races in the Middle East.

Only a matter of time before some oil shiek with too much money builds a fake version of Flanders in the desert!

It's not just shortened, but the bizarre set-up like in Milan-Sanremo. The presentation and 'ceremonial' start will be in Deinze as normal, the riders do a couple of kms on the bikes to get out of town, then get in the bus, and the 'real' start is 45 km further. Must be to honour the contract with Deinze to have the start there, but all a bit of a faff for riders and mechanics

It's basically back to the distance it was a couple of years ago and could end up completely flat?
    So, a junior Scheleprijs, then.
    Great buy Sky Sports.
    Should have moved to Monday.

    Chipper status confirmed.

I hope the weather is better there than it is here. We've had 3 inches of snow overnight and it's still falling. I went out yesterday and it was blowing at F5 - 6 Easterly. If they do ride they will earn their money today. Chipper or not, pray it goes ahead, otherwise it will be more curling or Aisan Tour snooker on Eurosport...

According to the info schedule on my TV, Sporza coverage starts at 14.00 CET.
    Correlation is not causation.
  • But I want to watch now!

Exactly my feelings too! It's too cold and windy to go out on the bike. :(

Love this time of the season. Can't move for racing.
4 races live on tv/net today.
De Panne midweek, then the start of the big boys.
Eurosport have over 5 hours of live Flanders scheduled for next, Sunday. :)

Latest from the organisers is there main worry is getting all the course marshalls who of course are volunteers and come from far and wide to there respective locations on the course. They feel that they should have everyone in position on time for the race.

Lots of wind. Fingers crossed we see some of it. Often the echelons happen before live tv starts.

Should be some good racing despite the changes. Where's the best place to find a feed? I assume there'll be nothing in English?

Wilfred Peeters has told the race directors if one rider crashes on ice, the peloton will stop the race.

I wonder if the Rabo ladies "experience" has anything to do with it?

    He's pretty well liked.

Does peloton politics better than most, and on Flemish roads he has a lot of sway.

Please god don't let Farrar be on the start list then.

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.
