Changing gripshift gears to shifters

Hi im new to the forum and mtb and i was wondering is it possible to change grip gears to the thumb shifters if so how would you go about doing it? :?

buy the appropriate shifters (to match the dérailleurs) and fresh cables, fit and job done.

Usually they come with fresh cables too.

You'll probably need new grips too.

I did this for one of the kids early bikes. Quite easy, just get the same speed shifters. The shifters should come with the inner, I used the exsisting outer. Worked a treat.
