Grouset Decisions

Im picking up a caad8 2013 in the summer and cant decide which groupset to get.
Sora 9 speed (2013 without the thumb paddles) 12-26 or
10 Speed Tiagra 12-28
I currently have shim 2300 8 speed 13-26 and I hate it. I would like the extra teeth for climbing as currently I have no drop out gear, so the Tiagra will give me that. Or, do I save £100, go for Sora and stop crying about the climbs?
Please provide you opinions

May as well go 10 speed as the industry moves on. 11 speed is now coming through and 9 speed components are getting harder to source at reasonable money.
I love my 9 speed though, but in a couple of years it will be like getting hold of hens teeth. :-(Yellow is the new Black.0 -
I agree with Smidsy0

If the problem is you have no drop out gear then I'd advise getting a new, wider-ranging cassette.
If you don't like the thumb shifters or you feel it's time for a groupset swap then you're best off with 10spd like Smidsy said!0 -
The new Sora has proper shifters now doesn't it?
Unless you really want 10spd I think I would go for Sora and stick on a wider range cassette if the hills are still a problem.0 -
If the difference is only 100 quid I'd go with Tiagra and 12-28.0

Would the sora with a wider cassette not cost around the same as getting the Tiagra? I think I have decided to go with the 10 speed. Thanks for your helpCube Attain SL Disc
