Hey folks, about 2 months ago i thought it would be a good idea to detatch myself from my bike and and try to shoulder barge down a tree  . After visiting the quacks and hospital for an Xray a couple of weeks ago due to the pain and swelling showing no signs of going away i have been told i have a cat 2 sprain.

Im still doing gentle rides for excerise on the hardtail (fire road / B road stuff) but am staying away from my bouncy
bike and harsher terrain until it heals.

Any body had similar and how long did it take to cure?

Similar(ish) I pulled a muscle about 10 months ago in my left shoulder and it seems to get better but then aches again.
Physio at work has given me advice but the things suggested only work if I'm not working if that makes sense?
It feels OK when I'm riding but afterwards it's very sore.

Rotator cuff maybe? It's a common injury after shoulder-charging a tree. If it's category 2 you're looking at min 6 months and that's with some help from an osteopath or physio.

I did mine in a while ago was probably a year/18 months before it felt 'OK'. Wore an EVS shoulder brace for a while it helped at first but felt restrictive when the shoulder started to get better. I think you have to work on it really carefully and scientifically or it just heals up wrong and then it's never right again unless you go under the knife

    Good luck

Thanks for the info guys, guess I was hoping to hear it would be shorter than that. Oh we'll, I'll get some physio through my health care plan.
