I suspect that since you've posted in the road buying advice section, someone will be along shortly to tell you to buy a road bike instead. Do you actually need a hybrid or will you only be riding on the road?0

OK, here's my take...
Consider why you're buying a hybrid first of all. If it's for the upright comfortable riding position/familiarity then no problem, but a road bike will be more efficient on Tarmac and forget any pretensions of a hybrid being a jack of all trades, capable of off-roading at weekends (unless you have another set of wheels) and it's for light use.
At that price avoid disc brakes (if you can find any) and suspension forks because they add unnecessary weight and are likely to be crap. Spend the money instead on buying the best groupset you can afford (frames will all be much of a muchness) but decide whether you want basically a flat bar road bike, or a mountain bike groupset with a wider range of gears (depending on either how fast you want to go, or how hilly your area is).
As for suggestions, I believe Cube offer good value for money, but you might find more suggestions on, say, the Commuting forum. As always, use your local bike shop and try a few (bikes and shops that is, they all stock different ranges and their views will be dependant on what they sell). The right one is the one that makes you smile.
Good luck and enjoy your riding.Pride and joy: Bianchi Sempre
