wait till you point it down and hit the rocks, will feel like a nuclear powered rocket0 -
Nice looking bike, the 2013 Lapierre's are some of the nicest bikes around imo.0
-
Had it out lastnight for a bit, just bolted on some crap plastic flats as havent got any spds yet..
great fun0 -
Lovely bike mate,
I just bought myself a zesty 214 2013. Over the moon with it.0 -
I originally ordered the 214....but got an email saying it was out of stock untill mid April, so just went for the 314 as they had my size in-stock at the time0
-
Fitted a cnc jockey...as it was brand new and lying in a spares box....matches the hubs0 -
and some new pedals...just cheap m520 numbers...they get fecked anyway!0 -
What jockey wheel have you used ? Looking to fit red ones to my zesty but unsure if I need 10 teeth or 11 teeth cog.0
-
Thanks bud0

Stunning looking bike! Where'd you get it from?0

was out today a wee 13miles round the local area...
shock and fork set-up according to fox's iphone app...but felt a little soft to me...maybe cos im used to road bikes...sag on the rears about 20%....any suggestions? just fire some more air in both?0 -
When I set my rear shock up, I used the sag indicator on the frame have mine set to the 17mm setting.
But if you do more xc than all mountain try the 12mm setting.0 -
yea i do tend to do more XC-ish stuff....nothing crazy downhill around here, not flat either....0

Some local trails yesterday

I picked up my Zesty 314 on Saturday and had a quick ride yesterday (was desperate to get out despite the ice and snow) and I love it.
I sold my 2009 Trek Fuel EX8 which I adored but this is something else!
Congrats!0 -
nice one
how you finding it so far?0 -
With all the crappy weather I haven't been able to really give it a full test, but in comparison to my old Trek Fuel EX8 it feels quite a lot more sure footed and confident. Thats not to say the Trek wasn't.0
-
much prefer it to my 5 SE i had, feels nippy and soaks up the trails lovely!
had a pretty good 30miles on it lastnight, few large and long climbs and it performed excellent.
very happy so far

Had the Zesty for just over a month now and apart from not getting out that much because of snow and icy conditions, finally made it to Hopton last weekend. Have to say, it's night and day compared to the Trek. The Trek was a good bike but I don't remember it eating up trails quite as good as the Zesty is doing.
Made a short video too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KENvdHB0OD00 -

You're finding the Zesty a real improvement then? I had a brief test ride last week on Zesty 314 v Trek Fuel EX8 v Norco Sight 2SE, and (to my inexperienced self) the Zesty and Norco did feel livelier then the Trek, with plusher suspension too (and the Zesty was definitely the prettiest). How do you find the Formula brakes? On the bike I rode they felt p**s poor, very weak compare to the Shimanos on the other two bikes. Admittedly they were brand new, and not bedded i, but so were the other bikes.0 -
