hi, im Andrew new to this website and mountain biking.

im looking for a new bike I kinda know what im looking for but not entirely sure I don't have a massive budget probably im not to worried about it being 2nd hand aslong as it in decent condition and theres delivery seems I cant collect as I don't drive . what im looking for in a bike is really discs brakes front and rear large frame im 6'3ft tall and front suspension ideally. If its not to much ask maybe a lil off roading depending

It's not very good to be honest. Take a look at the first bike here:

You should get something very usable on Ebay for that. Look for something like a Carrera.

thanks for advice im browsing ebay lots but many people seem unwilling to deliver and I don't drive and have no other means of transport.

found a couple of nice ones but they all hitting mid £200s even on ebay.

jus spotted on ebay deciding if its Worth a bid or three what you reckon and if I could win with only £150 including p+p budget is real tight as I gotta get some medical treatment payed for this month also. gonna be even tighter next month so this seemed like a good time to buy or atleast look

    currently bidding on this

Try gumtree, maybe a Carrera Vulcan. Your budget is pretty damn tight and the bike you linked to is pretty shocking so do some research and maybe think about waiting and saving a bit more?

Edit: cheap enough and in your size, delivery about £15

Latest Vulcan as you linked to is a very good bike for the money, won't stay below £150 though.

Shoreline is specced pretty much as the older cable disc Vulcan's and I'd expect to ride about the same

    Vertigo is poo.....

You won't get the Spesh for £150 either, if you could, buy it!

GT again will almost certainly top £150, nice bike, not sure what the forks are, suspect Suntour XCR as they have Magnesium (Mg) alloy lowers.

Confused as these bikes are spread all over the country...

Tried Gumtree to keep it local?

As money is tight for you, find out if your company are in the "Cycle to Work Scheme"
    http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/article/g ... eme-18360/

I had a quick look on my work intranet & let's say if I got a £300 voucher from the cycle to work scheme, it would work out that the bike would cost me £204 ( Tax Exempt) & I believe you pay this monthly ( over 12 months) out of your wages before you are taxed.

I was comparing it to the advert in your first post which you now appear to have removed. Editing a post after a load of replies doesn't help!

I never really got the hang of how to use gumtree

I don't drive so these are people willing to deliver. yes my company does do the workscheme thing but it would rather own the bike out right from the start

Spend some time learning Gumtree, prices are lower for starters (no 10% ebay fees to pay!) I've got some real steals!

What town are you in and I'll make up a Gumtree search for you!

Isn't far away as a quick check....I doubt those are 24" wheels, he probably doesn't realise that 26" is the diameter with a nominal tyre!
