Hotel Bernard - we stayed there during last years Tour and found it good. It has an adjacent garage for storing bikes and the owner was a friendly chap. Our bedroom was fine with it's own shower, we didn't eat there but a few other cyclists were. We breakfasted at a cafe in the square and ate out in the evening at a few different places.
Saint Jean was a brilliant base for many of the Cols (Madeleine, Chaussy, Croix de Fer, Mollard, Glandon, Telegraphe, Galibier, Toussuire)
We watched the Tour from the top of Toussuire and then watched the depart the next day from one of the front bedrooms of the Hotel Bernard as the rolling start passed underneath.

Funnily enough, I've just emailed them to enquire about rooms. Me and a mate are staying in St Jean for 4 nights to ride some cols, got a campsite booked but I'm thinking a real bed might be better. St Jean itself looks like a nice place to relax post-colling0

I'm heading to Saint Jean de Maurienne for the last week in May - am booked in the Hotel St Georges, so hoping that I've made a good choice!
You may want to look at this website for a couple of lesser known climbs;

I'm also planning a couple of days riding from Bourg d'Oisans
Day One - Alpe d'Huez & Col d'Ornon
Day Two - La Berarde & Les Deux Alpes
Good luck with booking accommodation & hope you have a great trip!

End of June for me.....I've read that some cols don't open until early June.0 -

Hotel du Nord was good - Only two stars but food was excellent.
Careful with the website you might get a headache:

Hi,
We may be of help.
We are based in the area on route to the Col du Telegraphe and Galibier and regularly visit all of the cols in the Maurienne valley and around the St Jean de Maurienne area. We can provide accommodation only or offer more all inclusive trips that include guiding etc. We have a private chalet with a terrace offering spectacular views and also have bike storage and workshop. If you're flying we also offer airport transfers.
If we can be of any help let me know even if you just need some advice on the area.
