The ball end has popped out of my Shimano Golden Arrow lever. I can't see why it did, or how to get it back in!

Any ideas?

Remove the cable and feed in from the bottom.

You need to roll the barrel the other way round and if you can't fit the head that way, then remove the cable and feed from the other side

  • Cheers for the replies. Got it back in, but I think the reason it came out is that the caliper is seizing up and not springing back into place.

    I'll WD40 it tomorrow.

The caliper and cable are now covered in blood, as I managed to fray the cable and stab my thumb half a dozen times!

    That is exactly the reason...
