Do GPS computers stop working when you get in the drops?

Hello all,

As subject title, I am looking for a new cycle computer. I cannot use any kind of computer that has sensors fixed on the rear chain stays as both bars have cables attached, 1 for gears and 1 for brake line (new Lynskey Sportive Disc owner here :) ). So it either has to be a front fork/wheel sensor kit or a GPS unit.

I am steering towards a GPS unit but I am concerned about them not working when you get into the drops for long periods and lean over the unit. How good are they at keeping a GPS lock when you ride like this? This will decide what type I go for. Thanks.

Im sure a GPS unit can manage to handle a body in its way...

Never had a problem so far with my Bryton GPS unit.

Also ridden with lots of others with all sorts of different units and none of them have ever mentioned it as an issue.

I think it is safe to say it is fine, it may lose signal for other reasons but not because you ride in a certain body position.

Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.
