cube shift cables??? rubbish

anyone came accross issues with stock cube shift cables.. i have a new stereo race and its been washed three times and shifter went solid at degla sat!!! investigated this am.. no sealed outers or anything.. thought it was a bit poor as my trek ex had sealed shimano cable and not gave me much grief.. after much reading xtr cable ordered..

    Poor initial build maybe?
    I've been ragging my Cube through all sorts of mud and grit (and then cleaning it) for the past 18 months with no issues. haven't checked, but I think mine are sealed.

    My old cube (last shape) had the same issue there was 30cm of bare cable on the chain stay which picked up ALL the sh&^e.

    I then spent £3 on this little kit which transformed my shifting until I sold the bike - get it.
