Watched it for the second time last night.

Goes to sh*t as soon as 'Q' gets involved IMHO.

Carry on!

I didn't enjoy it much at all, very overrated, and the oscar winning song was instantly forgettable.

I watched it, and forgot to watch for my sister's credit at the end. I'm a rubbish brother. =)

I was hoping to watch it on Lovefilm now that the DVD is out but they haven't got it to rent for another month, d'oh.

I thought it was OK, but not nearly as good as Casino Royale.
I came away without a strong sense of what the plot was.

I didn't mind it, better that a lot of some of the rubbish that was released this year IMHO.

Didn't love it, didn't hate it.

The action was pretty good, but the plot (and motivation of the villain) was very thin.

Might give it another go on Sky and see if it's any better on the sofa than in the cinema.

Says it all really. I thought it was terrible. Lots of kabooms and blammo but even that wasn't done very well...
  • I really enjoyed it. Thought it was an excellent film. Much more Bond than Casino Royale, which I thought had gone waaaay to much like Bourne.

    Top class.

The corpse of Ian Fleming might disagree with this.....! Casino Royale, minus the opening and closing sequences is pure Fleming Bond and remarkably accurate to the book.

Disappointed re Skyfall (not seen it yet) - everyone was saying it was the best ever Bond

Love honest trailers. I also love James Bond films and books, which is why I hate anything after GoldenEye. Its all been complete rubbish since then!

Even Casino Royal wasn't very good. Its not very true to the book, for a start its not set in the 60's or whatever... They should've made a retro film for CR.

If you like Skyfall then you're easily pleased.

Are you sure you have actually read Casino Royale - the film was very close to the book; certainly amongst the closest of all the films to the books. Yes, it wasn't set in the 60s (and ultimately the drug money motive is much less interesting than the Soviet menace but it isn't that important to the plot in the end) but then most of the books were written in the 50s anyway (Casino Royale being from 1953) so none of the films are quite true to period though some are only a few years out. Casino Royale (film) to its credit even made a decent fist of the card game even if they had to change it to poker.

Retro would be nice but it isn't what people want from a Bond film sadly. There are a whole load of the films that could be redone more true to the books and in period and they could make great films; Moonraker is an obvious candidate.
