Hi,
I'm looking at getting a 29er hardtail and like the spec/weight/price of the Vitus Zircon 29VR but I can't find a single review on the internet. Anyone have any experience of this bike they'd like to share?
Spec is :
http://www.vitusbikes.com/mountain-bike ... cification
Triple-butted 6061-T6 hydroformed aluminium frame
RockShox Recon Silver TK Solo Air, 100mm travel, 15mm thru axle
Mavic TN 319 Disc
Formula disc 100mm x 15mm thru axle front, SRAM MTH-406 disc 135mm x QR rear
Maxxis Beaver, 29”x2.0”, 60a/70a
Avid Elixir 3 hydraulic disc, 180mm rotors
SRAM S1000, 175mm, 39t x 26t
SRAM PC-1031, 10-speed
SRAM PG-1030, 11t-36t, 10-speed
SRAM X7, rear, front & shifters
Vitus alloy flat bar, 730mm wide
Easton EA50, 75mm, 8 degree rise
Vitus lock-on grips
FSA Orbit 1.5B zero stack, 1-1/8” to 1.5"
Vitus saddle
Easton EA50 seatpost
Alloy QR seatclamp
WEIGHT 13.0kg (medium)
For £800 it looks like a good price for the spec - especially the 15mm thru axle fork.
Thanks,
Richard

It's fairly new out so I wouldnt expect to see much in the way of reviews, plus own brand kit tends to get overlooked by the magazines, I can only remember seeing reviews of the vitus escarpe & blitz.
That said for the money it is a great spec compared to a lot of 29ers, A specialized or giant wouldnt come close at that price point.0 -
Thanks for the reply. I was hoping someone who owns one might be on this forum... Bikeradar have a few Vitus reviews but, as you said, the 'in-house' brands do get overlooked. Perhaps I'll just have to go for it0

Don't forget to post a review!0

As mentioned, you may be unlikely to find reviews of this model yet but if it helps at all I bought a Vitus Blitz 1 towards the end of last year and couldn't be happier with the bike. With CRC's huge buying power you benefit from an excellent component spec for any given price so they should always be amongst the best in terms of value for money.
It's not just that though, the bikes seem really well designed and what few reviews that are out there for the Vitus brand all seem very positive (The Blitz 1 I have got a 4.5/5 review on here for example). My personal experience would certainly back this up too and I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Vitus again.0 -
Check the spec again & you have to blink to believe. Only CRC buying power can serve up such a deal. 15mm fork lined up with Mavic 319 rims and Maxxis Beaver tyres on rails. Mine came in a box almost the size of the couriers van (postage included in price). The stem is reversable and I stuck on my own bars and pedals. The bikes frame is alot better looking than website and feels like it can do almost anything. Goes like a 29" xc train. Specialise in trails and racing. For the same price could get a Cube analog 29 but no 15mm axle and sticky tyres.-No thanks. The Zirconvr 29 has a great spec and the SRAM drive train works much better than anything I had with Shimano. The Vitus gears are lovely and feathery. - I hope that helps0

This post is probably a bit late, but I bought the Vitus Zircon 29VR about a month ago and it is an awesome bike, and as everyone has said the price against this spec is outstanding. This is my first move to the 29" wheels and it takes off quickly, climbs very well, descends amazingly and easily twists and turns with the trail. It's the best bike I've had. I commute on it, explore on it, ride events on it and amble along with my girlfriend on it - handles all with ease. For a big bike it's light, handling is great, same size frame as I had with a 26" and the fit is spot on, gears change perfectly and the Elixir 3 brakes are very good. One more bit of praise, it's comfortable, so all day hacks are fun and not painful. I really does get some admiring glances as it's better in the flesh than online, so overall a fantastic bike and as someone else said Vitus build really good bikes (MBUK agree).0
