Having been a member for a while now its clear there is a great spectrum of cycling ability on this site. From near super pro racers to me, me being the lowest (obviously)! :?

I thought it would be a good idea to find out what sort of cycling achievements everyone has done or intends to complete. It seems evident nearly everyone is faster than me so I know where I need to improve for sure!

My 2 achievements in my relatively short cycling life of 2 years are London 2 Brighton for which it rained the entire journey and London 2 Paris in 24 hrs.

I intend to tackle LEJOG, L'Etape du Tour and Mont Ventoux but these will possibly be a little later on in life maybe when I can clss myself as a MAMIL...

What are your acheivements?

I always seem to miss all the sportives and that is something that I definitely want to do more of as currently its non existent. Good on you getting your kids involved, I used to love my bike as a child but then the inevitable gap during my teenage years into early adulthood when girls/cars/nightlife took over until now where none of those are important anymore. (It's ok to say that once you are married) :)

My biggest achievement was the South Downs Way in a day a few years ago on a Specialized Hard Rock. 10,000 feet of climbing and 95 odd miles in about 13 hours. That year I also did London to Brighton, and then back to London on my own. Gruelling return trip, especially half way back around Crawley when I really didn't know what I was doing.
Upcoming is the Ridelondon 100, which I want to do in under 7 hours. There's a mountain road in Abruzzo in Italy that goes through Passo Lanciano; I got two thirds of the way up it a couple of years back and want to make the whole ascent. I just hadn't experienced such a long climb before, and it was the heat of August...

MY ACHIEVEMENTS To date I've lost 3 stone, done several sportives, got a lot fitter, save myself at least £70 a month in fuel by biking most days to work. By far the biggest achievement to date is to introduce my 7 yr old and 13 yr old to biking properly and not just a quick trip around the park. Hopefully its something they will continue throughout their life.

Properly great achievements - especially encouraging the children out onto bikes.

    Well done.
