    Ask the Shand friendly lot.
Typically their frames are 1.8 Kg

Have you contacted the people that build them?

Ive discussed having one made with stephen shand but didnt glean any info as to just how heavy a size 54 frame would be. If I decide to order one mine would be a custom one anyway as id like a taller headtube on it.

the skinny is one of THE finest looking frames ive ever seen and ticks all the boxes for me, because its hand made id expect the bike ride like you were cycling over crushed velvet.

Are you in a hurry ? I have one on order which is due very shortly (although a bit larger than your frame). Happy to weigh it and let you know when it arrives. I am hoping it won't be too long now.

Unlikely. I've had hand-made steel frames, but the ride quality of my Taiwan-tastic carbon frame is significantly better. Get one by all means, but don't go thinking it will be the holy grail, because it won't be.

You already have a good bike, what's wrong with it and why do you want to change it?

Seems like it could be a route to spending a lot of money for very little gain.

Oh no intention of losing my caad, I just adore the retro styling of the skinny and nothing rides like a steel frame for sheer smoothness on the roads. Id just have 2 bikes then

    Yes of course.

I love the retro look of the skinny and it captures my attention and interest much more than a carbon does. To me something about the skinny just looks so right and it is of course a preference thing.

Tyre choice and pressure is the single biggest difference you can make to 'ride quality' on any frame, regardless of material. Without knowing which steel frames you have ridden it's difficult to be any more specific than that.
