How do you set up a cycling club "officially"?

Do they have to be registered with British Cycling or something?
If so, is there a set of basic requirements that your club has to comply with? Paperwork to file etc?
Just looking for some pointers...

A 'club' can be anything you like. Depends what you and/or the other members' intentions or aspirations are. Some clubs are nothing more than just a bunch of people with custom jerseys.0

^-^ As per above can be a fully fledged registered club or an informal group that gets together. If your going down the BC route that have a simple section on their website - http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/clubs/ ... or-clubs-0Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.0 -

Excellent - thanks for that, just what I needed.0 -
You might not want to go the paperwork route, my former club went that route and the chairman ended up doing more paperwork than cycling. We even had a club constitution and various statements of equality and diversity, we basically forced ourselves to accept everyone in the club, which is great if a disabled tricycle rider wants to join, less so if it is just a fully able arxehole who wants to join
Everyone welcome was the policy... don't go that route... :evil:left the forum March 20230
